HL7 - Health Level 7
HL7 or Health Level 7 is an international not-for-profit organization that creates standards and protocols for the communication of health information. The organization consists of scientists and researchers that develop such standards.
To be HL7 compliant an organization must maintain software systems that meet or exceed standards and protocols developed by HL7 when transferring medical data between its systems.
